Weed, MJ, Marijuana, 4:20. These are just a few of the common names that refer to the dried leaves of cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica plant.
And this controversial plant is popular among congress and house of representatives because until now, the use of the said plant is still debatable.
On one hand, smoking weed as a medicinal drug has proved positive results especially in patients who are suffering cognitive conditions like seizures and even cancer patients.
On the other hand, excessive and long use of marijuana can cause a detrimental effect on the memory of the user, plus it is highly addictive.
Nonetheless, more and more states and countries are welcoming the use of “medical marijuana”. This includes Canada if it could pass as on the legislative body in July 2018.
Young Professionals contribution to marijuana usage
According to the latest survey of National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), the daily use of marijuana has incredibly increased in the last 30 years. 1 of 3 Americans uses marijuana at one point in their lives. Surpassing the use of tobacco, it became the most illicit drug especially among youth and young adult.
Also, according to a research done by Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan, young adults smoke pot because of the following reasons:
- Relaxation
- Get high
- Escape and coping
- Experimenting
Moreover, acquiring marijuana is not hard as it is available in most part of the united states. In fact, there are even luxury shops who cater cannabis users by offering various kinds of cannabis product like cookies.
It’s no wonder why most young professionals including me, who are striving to survive the daily stress and midlife crisis will seek for a moment of relaxation by getting high.
But then again, most employers do not approve this kind of recreational activity and random drug tests happen from time to time.
So how do you pass that drug test?
THC lifespan in your body
Before escaping, first, let me show you first how long will the TCH stay in your body. Knowing the shelf life of marijuana in your body is as important as passing negative that drug test.
Truth is, there are a lot of factors to consider before coming up with the right calculations on how long the chemical will stay in your body.
But you must remember that the length of stay of TCH in your body depends on how long you are using it. Moreover, your metabolism can also affect how the chemicals will process in your body.
The fastest system that indicates that you used weed is your circulatory system, particularly your bloodstream. You can’t get high unless that TCH reaches your blood.
Usually, it takes 1 to 2 days before byproducts disappear in your system after sole use. But if you have multiple sessions of smoking pot, it will stay up to weeks. This is the same with saliva since they have almost the same effect.
For urine, chronic users will have to wait for 3 months before 11-nor-delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (delta9-THC-COOH) disappear in your system.
How about your hair?
Newsflash: If you are a chronic user, evidence of TCH will stay on your hair follicle forever.
But if you are a recreational user or someone who can manage consumption, you do not have to worry. Tracing TCH using hair test are only used to verify those chronic users and not occasional users.
Can you fool the short notice drug test?
If you want to pass the drug test, detoxication is your best solution. However, this still depends on how your body accumulates the THC.
Personally, I used these detox drinks in the market to escape drug test. But not all detox drinks are as effective as advertised so be careful with that.
Moreover, having a proper diet and healthy lifestyle can also help boost your metabolic system. Thus, traces of THC can be removed in a short span of time.
